The first concert at the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna in 1998 was made possible by Zezhou Wu, Co-Founder of Wu Promotion, the first private and today’s biggest concert agency in China. Wu’s vision was to bring together the classical music traditions of East and West and to enrich the cultural exchange between Europe and Asia by introducing the sound of traditional Chinese music to Western circles.
Each year Wu Promotion brings distinguished orchestras and the premier conductors from China to Europe. The Grand Chinese New Year Concert has established its position in the annual calendar of the world’s most renowned concert halls. With over 100 concerts in more than 30 cities on three continents, it is one of the biggest and most successful orchestra productions of its kind and has welcomed an audience of more than 100,000 enthusiastic listeners.
