With five performances, the National Ballet of Ukraine was staging Prokofiev's highlight ballet Cinderella at the Royal Opera House Muscat.

The performances were presented in matinée performances for school students and in soirée performances for families. The ballet in three acts is one of Prokofiev’s most popular compositions. Cinderella is notable for its jubilant music, lush scenery and for the hilarious double roles of the famous step sisters.
The resident ballet company of the National Opera of Ukraine (formerly the Kiev Ballet Theatre) which was established in 1867, developed a reputation for its fine ballet and opera work. With around 150 dancers and staging 16 productions per month in its Kiev theatre, in addition to extensive international touring, the Kiev based ballet company has won the hearts of audiences across the world.

With its rich classic heritage and having performed to over 40 million people worldwide, the National Ballet of Ukraine has dazzled audiences with the artistry and technical brilliance of its members who are and always have been among the most talented in the world.
A number of its soloists have received the prestigious Anna Pavlova Prize and Vaclav Nezhinskiy Prize for their outstanding performances and the ballet's production of Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet was awarded a medal from Unesco as the best interpretation of Prokofiev's piece.
